ARR Quick Updates!

Been pretty lazy about updating the site. Whatever. I’ll do what I feel like. No one can stop me. Some updates in FF14 since the last time incoming!

I don’t even remember what I last talked about in ARR, but it was probably about getting that Gae Bolg Animus. Let’s go look at that again.

Beautiful.

Anyway, since then, Dragoon has been put aside due to lack of interest in melee DPS in Party Finder groups.

Not to mention the lack of luck in finding a group to carry my lazy self through Twintania and Coil Turn 5.

In any case, I instead looked to making a class that plays a much more important role in party compositions:

Scholar.

It wasn’t an immediate transition (Conjurer to 15, Arcanist to 30, etc), as I needed important cross-class skills, namely Stoneskin from Conjurer 34 and Swiftcast from Thaumaturge 26.

I also had a brief stint with White Mage. Maybe I’ll get back to that one day, but Scholar is a surprisingly enjoyable ride thus far.

Not to say that this is where the post ends; there is still a lot of material to cover. First off, the Scholar is definitely leveled up quite far.

Succor was 35 or something, right? Can’t remember. Would make sense though.

Then we make a side trip to cap Weaver (as it turns out, Careful Synthesis II is very nice to have).

Now back to the good part!

And a side trip after using the Scholar’s Titan book for the longest time, in order to upgrade to the Relic +1..

Only to find myself at the start of the Atma grind again. Definitely not intentional, but was a planned project in the long-term.

Then a very long and RNG-heavy process to make ten (10!) high-quality Silver Brocades (those are 2- or 3-star master crafts!) to make the best-in-slot crafting hat that also happens to be some very nice-looking, dyeable glasses.

And a chance encounter with Behemoth where I handle healing the main tank on Behemoth.

Allagan Gloves of Healing were best-in-slot in 2.1, and they’re still quite good to have before upgrading to 2.2 gear. Unfortunately, I have had little luck in seeing them after this one time.

Fun times were still had, and I’m liking Scholar and healing quite a lot more than I had originally anticipated. Dragoon has been put on the back-burner for now, and I don’t expect to be picking it back up unless necessary. Of course, Gae Bolg Novus will definitely be something to work on once 2.28 arrives, but much of my focus is going to be put onto Scholar.
