In this past week, progress happened! With Animus completed and new games on the horizon, it’s time to ease up on the Realm Reborn grind and dive into something different! Let’s look back on what progressed over the past week. The week started off on finishing the seventh Atma book: while the objectives weren’t so bad, one of the dungeons required was Cutter’s Cry — a place I had not yet been to before. “It can’t be all that bad!” I had thought, naively.
I ended up running the damn place some three or four times.
To add insult to injury, the next day’s low-level roulette was also Cutter’s Cry. And in that run, the Warrior tank soloed down the Chimera.
To be fair, I’m -REALLY- bad with Chimera-type bosses. Gorgimera, Relicmera. They just destroy me because I’m bad at reading casts.
Accuracy was the last book upgrade in my Atma progression path; my reasoning was that Strength and Critical Hit Rate would be first and second because those two directly increased my DPS. Vitality came next because it slightly increased my health, while Accuracy came last because it had no visible effect on anything (I was well above most accuracy check thresholds anyway).
When the stones for the eighth book came around, I held off from immediately clearing the objectives, instead, I immediately continued with the Mythology farming to build up the final 1500.
Completing the eighth book wasn’t bad; the requirements were the same. The real trouble came with the final book.
The FATE Taken for the final book was the worst. I camped out in Southern Thanalan for close to six or seven hours before the shitty thing popped – it only lasted a couple of minutes before completion, so good luck to those looking for it.
In comparison, Tower of Power and What Gored Before were much simpler FATEs that popped up rather quickly. Whatever
Now what? After completing that final book, where do I go? Consulting the book-seller gives us the answer.
So we return to the man who first set us off on this crazy grind-quest.
And he just takes our weapon and..
“You hear the faint, painful moans and cries of souls trapped in your weapon, but you ignore it for the glow.”
While your mileage may vary across Relic Animus weapons, Gae Bolg Animus versus Gae Bolg Zenith is very noticeable.
But whatever. Best spear is best.
With Animus done, it’s time again to sit around and wait for the next progression update for the Relic Weapon. Due in May, the Novus (apparent name) will require some sort of “sphere scroll” items (source here). No idea what any of that means, but it’s time to start saving up Soldiery stones.
But enough about that; that’s for May. For now, let’s look at what’s ahea–
Wait, what?
No..
NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.
