ARR Progress: Completing Atma Book #7. 11500/13500 Tomestones of Mythology.

The most annoying thing about completing Atma books is finishing FATEs. In most cases, the FATE that requires a gold clear (I know this from experience, you NEED the gold clear for the objective to be completed) is going to have a few annoying characteristics going for it:

1. If it is a boss-type FATE, it will be next to impossible to solo.
2. The spawn timer can be anywhere between a few minutes to a half-dozen hours.
3. At least one is located in an area without an Atma drop (read: Coerthas).

Located in the Natalan area of Coerthas, completing The Four Winds requires killing four (4) boss-type enemies within 15 minutes – not a problem in a proper Full Party. Among myself and two Warriors that cleared this, less than a minute was left on the FATE timer by the time we had finished the fourth and final boss.

Square really went all-out in encouraging FATE participation and party-play for the Zodiac Weapon quest line. But once your FATEs are completed, the rest is easy; the 10 mobs and 3 leves are more tedious than anything, and the dungeon clears can be done with Duty Finder.

Considering the pace I’ve been going at, I’m hoping to finish by the 23rd and 24th. The 25th is the PC release date of Dark Souls 2, and that will most likely be the next time sink.
